First off: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WALLIE!!!

So this is my birthday present for you, ! I’m finally back on DA, but have been reverently avoiding the site until I could finish this!! I started it…about 5 or so days ago because-GUESS WHAT?- I forgot when your birthday was. And I felt really bad about it especially because I’ve probably asked you 10 times when your birthday was, but never wrote it down!! But thanks to DA’s new birthday alert thing, I got a much-needed head’s up! [Well...at least if DA was telling the truth, that is…o.0]

I drew this all out on regular printer paper at first, not having decided how exactly I was going to color it. I wanted to have a go at digital coloring again cause I’ve been practicing a lot lately and thought it would look nicer, but then I realized I’d have to make lineart and then color everything and frankly, I was too lazy. But then I realized that the only medium I could use to color this when it was on normal printer paper was colored pencils-and they never scan well!! So then I thought about scanning the drawing and then printing it out on watercolor paper but then I had ink issues and thought if I put water n the ink it would run and mess everything up so in the end, I decided just to go with digital anyways xP
This was also the first time I have ever attempted using textures/material-looking stuff for clothes and such, as well as trying out new Photoshop brushes I downloaded for the bg’s and all that jazz^^

What else.

Let’s see, Yuko looked like Pocahontas at first, Doumeki looked like a zombie with his gray skin [turned out better with a bg so I didn’t have to re-do his skin^^] I think Fai and Watanuki turned out the best, and this piece proves further that I cannot shade anything to save my life! Yeah, I think that’s about it :3

Also, I wish this was a bigger file size for better quality, but the drawing was on 8 1/2x11” paper and our scanner isn’t any bigger than that

And I know I don’t even have your favorite character in here Wallie, but I kinda wanted to stay main characters of TRC + XxxHolic cause it was more fun

And I finally figured out how to do lineart on invisible layers xD I'm so proud of myself^^

And so now it’s 2am and I am wishing you a happy birthday now because I just might collapse and never wake up tomorrow…so just in case…while I’m still awake xD
