Just thought I'd update my long-overdue journal!

So today's my birthday and it's kind of weird because I'm spending all day by myself. My friends and boyfriend are all in school all day so I'm just hanging out at home and playing the new Zelda game: Breath of the Wild! My boyfriend got it for me for my (early) birthday on Friday and I've been playing it nonstop since! It's such a gorgeous game (I have abused the screenshot button many times over) and I am LOVING open-world Zelda!! And I'm really liking the Switch so far as well :D

Has anybody else got the game yet? Your thoughts? I'm so much of a scavenger I've barely got through any of the main quests, but that means it's just going to take longer to finish and I am totally okay with that xD

Next on my to-do list today is go and get as many food birthday freebies as I can to feed me through the day, finish a giant abstract acrylic painting I was commissioned for, and then go to work for a few hours! Later tonight (when all my friends are finally done being responsible students) we're all going out to dinner, which will be a lot of fun :)

I'll post the picture of the done commission tomorrow and start working on some fan art!

I hope you all have a lovely day and can hopefully go out and enjoy some Spring weather wherever you are :meow:

I deeply apologize for yet another very inactive year, but as my 2016 resolution I did actually start drawing a lot more! (Even if it was mostly lettering).

I have a feeling 2017 is going to be a very good and prosperous year- full of new job opportunities, finally not having hand pain when drawing for the first time in 3 years, so many great new fandoms (mainly Voltron xD) and henceforth more fanart, more involvement online (trying out fanficition too ;p), digital drawings and more :) I really am hopeful and quite optimistic for it!

My art has suffered a lot over the past couple years in terms of met thinking I can do a good job. I don't know what happened between hurting my hand and now, but I have so much less confidence in drawing , especially fanart, and so it got to the point where I just never drew anything. But this past week I've actually finished two complete digital fanarts, which is a feat I have no completed in probably two years.

So please stick around with me if you're thinking about leaving- I'm not dead yet! And to those loyal followers and friends who have stuck with me for almost EIGHT YEARS (omg), THANK YOU!! I appreciate you all so much!

Happy holidays to everyone and I will write to you again in the New Year! Merry christmas everybody Santa :la:

Hey everyone!! I know it's been forever since I've really done much, but now almost two months out from my surgery I finally have full range of motion returned to my right hand and am drawing again :) At first it was really difficult because I could only draw for about a half hour at a time before my hand started to ache, but now I'm up to a couple of hours so that really makes me happy :)

Also, I can't work my normal hours at my photography job because of my hand (need to be able to lift at least 30+lbs worth of gear) so starting this week I should have a lot more time! The last few weeks have been both physically and mentally draining but I can't say they weren't fun.

The first weekend of July I drove with my friend to meet up with a couple of other friends from school who live in L.A. for yup- I'm sure many of you were there as well- Anime Expo!! Despite the three hour wait to get our badges on Friday, I had a great time and spent way too much money but I got lots of fun things and got to visit with my friends I haven't seen in quite awhile :) How was everyone else's Expo??

Fourth of July was spent driving in the most awful L.A. traffic back to Nor Cal and I got dropped off at my boyfriend's house just in time to see some fireworks :D We stayed there for a couple days and then came back to our new apartment! Chaos and boxes everywhere...We cleaned for three days and then found out there was a bug problem so had to move everything again so they could fumigate the place Dx But after another three straight days of unpacking, organizing and cleaning we now have a fully-functioning apartment! I have my own room for the first time in a year and a half and my own desk and space for art and it's wonderful

Anyways, stuff coming up for me now is:
:bulletpurple: Catching up on D. Gray-man Hallow
:bulletyellow: Posting Harry Potter fanart once my scanner works (on a HP craze- my boyfriend finally gave in and is watching all the HP movies with me xD)
:bulletblue: Posting birthday present art
:bulletgreen: Get back to drawing some realism
:bulletpink: Practicing my hand-lettering
:bulletorange: Watching Avatar for the first time ever *hides in shame*
:bulletred: More fanart!

Hope everyone is having a great summer!

So here's the thing guys: I hate not being able to draw (I mean, it's certainly not for lack of inspiration -I literally just found out five minutes ago that THERE'S GOING TO BE A NEW D. GRAY-MAN ANIME in July and it's taking absolutely all the restraint I have not to draw something from the new trailer!!!!)

But I also hate not being able to play video games. Or play racquetball. Or paint. Or lift things. Or use the computer for more than twenty minutes because typing it too painful. This June will mark two years since my wrist injury and I am so done with it. You don't realize how often you use your wrist/hands for basically EVERYTHING, and it's really getting to me. The physical therapy hasn't helped, the MRI's have shown nothing and now I've finally been given the opportunity to get a wrist arthroscopy so they can surgically go inside my hand and tell me what exactly is wrong and what they can do to fix it (if anything). I'm just at that point that I want to know what's going on.

I had to quit the major part of my job last week because it's literally too painful for me to work 8 hours a day at a computer anymore. I'm thankful they've still kept me at the company just as a part-time photographer because that's not as painful for me, but still. I know I'm going to be struggling for an income soon enough, but continuing on with the level of pain I deal with during my everyday job as a Production Assistant editing photos, typing data, etc. I don't believe would be a healthy decision for me.

That all being said, I'm getting the surgery on June 17th and all I ask is that you send me all of your well-wishes that they'll find something they can fix and I can finally start putting my life back together after two whole years. Not to mention so I can start drawing ALL THE TIME again!! (Drawing in half-hour increments only about once a week is so not my style xp)

In other news, I've started re-watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (just watched the episode "Separate Destinations" :tears: and it's just as awesome and as great as I remember but it bothers me that it's in parts on Netflix instead of seasons haha (even though I know that's how they originally came out). I just like knowing I'm on episode 19 instead of "Part 2: Episode 6" ;p
